The SS18 New York Fashion Week shows have proven to be collectively the most diverse and identity driven runway and campaign casting seen in the history of fashion. From Diane Von Furstenberg new creative director Jonathan Saunders first Ad campaign celebrating gender fluidity, Jeremy Scott culturally diverse runway show, to Rihanna’s Fenty beauty campaign.  There is a celebration of individuality in model size, gender and ethnicity, each with their own unique markings and characteristics. Straying from the typical mold that mainstream fashion has encapsulated women.

In March 2016 I collaborated with casting director Damian Bao to highlight individuality and diversity by casting 28 models to walk the Armature Runway Show during Style fashion week LA.  Model Slick Woods opened the Armature show smoking a cigarette. She’s grown to be one of the seasons most popular faces, walking for Jeremy Scott, Rihanna’s Fenty x Puma, Helmut Lang and Marc Jacobs among others. Known for her badass cool girl attitude, gap tooth and shaved head, Slick is one of the most interesting faces in fashion today, pushing the boundaries of the traditional mold and blazing a path for the future.
